It is love to tell the truth…
Truth is a gift you give to the other person involved out of respect and gratitude for what you have both shared together—AND it’s also a gift you give to yourself out of self-respect and true self-love.
Most people run from relaying the truth, falsely believing it some how saves them. The only thing it saves them from is the *temporary* discomfort of feeling deeply when they speak the truth or must admit to a lack of integrity that caused hurt or harm. What they do not realize is, this truth that remains unspoken, compounded with their lack of courage and integrity, becomes a heavy weight to bare. Over time, this baggage (guilt, shame, self-hatred, etc) becomes an enormous burden chipping away at their self-esteem and emotional well-being. These people can’t look at themselves in the mirror. They run and hide (often in addiction and other people), unable to confront the truth that would ultimately set them free.
So remember when you speak your truth, no matter how challenging, how hard your heart pounds inside your chest, or how much your voice shakes, know that you are setting yourself free. You are literally stepping into your power and expanding your self-respect and self-love. Second, when you communicate the truth to the other person involved, you have given them a gift that supports their own process of freeing themselves and healing faster without having to wallow in the extraneous muck caused by deceit, betrayal or dishonesty. It is love to tell the truth—so they can work with what is, not with what they think, what stories they make up or a misdirected focus on their insecurities. Love yourself enough and be grateful for the experience you had together to bestow such graciousness.
When you give someone a conscious ending, they have free will as to whether or not they will do the inner work to create a conscious new beginning for themselves. Their healing process is not your responsibility once you have spoken the truth. But make no mistake, when a conscious ending occurs, it is ultimately a blessing to humanity by contributing to integrated humans who can shine their light and live from a whole heart. ❤️
