Have you ever felt a little nervous at the thought of sitting down for a tarot or psychic reading? You’re far from alone. In this post, I’d like to address those common fears and share a bit about how I approach this work — with clear intention, angelic connection and a deep commitment to creating a safe, high-vibe space for every person who sits with me, whether in a private session or at a Sedona psychic party.

Over the years, I’ve heard so many versions of the same quiet confession: “I’m afraid to get a reading,” “I’m nervous about what might come up,” or “I’m not sure I’m ready to know.”

Many people who come to me are already familiar with tarot and actively seek it out. Others are curious but hesitant, unsure of what to expect. And then there are those who feel genuinely scared, or who believe tarot is somehow “dark.” Some have seen the Death or Tower cards and taken them in a literal, negative context. Others simply say, “I’m too scared to know my future.” Tarot is a mystical art, after all. We are interacting with the unseen and the unknown, which can naturally create trepidation for anyone unfamiliar with this spiritual tradition and practice.

So let’s break it down —

In almost any profession or healing modality, you can encounter people who lack integrity or misuse their gifts with ill intent. Some are not even fully aware of the energy they are putting out, which can make them even more harmful.

This is why discernment is so important when choosing a reader or anyone you will be exchanging energy with (healers, bodyworkers, acupuncturists, etc.). Always ask yourself: Do I vibe with their energy? Do they feel good to me? Do I feel safe? This is where referrals, testimonials and trusting your instincts can be important in aligning with energy that is healthy and elevating for you. Our deepest healing happens where a safety field has been created—the space where your nervous system can finally relax, be held and be truly seen within the high-frequency container the practitioner is holding.

In my own work, I am very clear and intentional about connecting with the angels and working exclusively with angelic frequencies. I do not engage with dark arts, spell work or anything of that nature.

From my perspective, tarot is a spiritual practice and an art—both a mystical art and a creative art in terms of the depth, beauty and magic conveyed within the practice, the symbolism and the artwork. Tarot merges our human intuition with the cards, using their layered meanings, placements and relationships to one another to illuminate patterns, energetics and truth to support the person being read.

As for the Death and Tower cards, the vast majority of the time, they are metaphors. The Death card usually speaks to endings and completions, a major transformation in some area of life. The Tower, while it can feel sudden or even shocking, is ultimately an awakening. It often appears as a protective warning that a foundation is unstable, and it’s time to rebuild on firmer ground.

These cards can be read more literally depending on the context, but that is generally not how I read. Because I connect with the angelic realms and Christ Consciousness, I am seldom shown that kind of information unless someone specifies such a question. (Note: every reader is different and has their own style. I am speaking about my personal process from my perspective and experience.)

Which brings me to one final point — some people simply don’t want to know their future. (I’ve become one of those people myself.) The purpose of a tarot reading is not necessarily to predict what will happen. Even though many people sit down in front of me and say, “Tell me about my future!”

The future can and will come up if it is in your highest good to receive that information.

When I sit down to read for you, my prayer and intention is to connect with my team of angels and your team of angels, and to bring forward exactly what you most need to know right now in order to move into your highest potential. Sometimes they share a future timeline. Other times they do not as they are discerning as to what will actually be most helpful for you.

Some readings offer glimpses of future potentials. Others reveal belief systems, patterns or relationships that need attention so you can move forward. A reading can show you options you hadn’t considered, uncover blocks sitting in your blind spot, or confirm something you’ve been feeling but have allowed your intellect to override. My readings also address mindset shifts and practical support that boost self-care, self-love and self-esteem to expand your personal frequency.

The possibilities and depth of insight are endless when you come with an open mind and an open heart. 🤍
